I was sick and you visited me ...

Mark Aning (center) can now walk!

Left to Right: Solomon Quainoo (preacher, Adankrono Church of Christ); Rose Gavor (senior nurse, Nsawam Hospital); Mark, Helen and Stephen Sarpong (Mark’s parents).

Dear Ted

Much greetings to you and the brothers and sisters in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The church in Adankrono is getting on well with new faces showing up and a number of backsliders restored. Our evening meetings have been encouraging. Despite our difficulties, some progress has been realised.

I received an amount of 1, 360,000 cedis from Ernest Apeadu for the Mark Aning, the boy here in Adankrono who needed foot surgery. The parents were happy and grateful for what you all have done for them, they send their thanks and ask God’s blessings on you all. The surgery was successful and the boy has been moved to Nsawam Hospital for final treatment and therapy. Enclosed is a picture taken in front of the hospital.

In His love, Solomon

A special thanks for your prayers and support of Mark and the other young people in Ghana who, because of your compassion and generosity, were able to receive needed medical attention. Below is a report regarding the work in Nkonya that we helped to support. We look forward to more reports in the future.

15 Baptized into Christ

Last week, February 8-11, 2001, 62 brothers and sisters conducted a campaign in Nkonya-Ahenkro, Volta Region. Thursday evening they conducted public preaching and showed a film regarding the life of Christ. Friday and Saturday they conducted dawn preaching, house to house evangelism during the day and public preaching followed by questions and answers.

As a result of those efforts 8 men and 7 women were baptized into Christ and a new congregation has been established. Services were held on Sunday with 186 present (including 20 adult visitors and 75 children).

Weekly follow-up will continue to help build up the new church.

For God so loved the World

For God So Loved the World
For God so loved the world, not just a few,
The wise and great, the noble and the true,
Or those of favored class or rank or hue.
God loved the world. Do you?

Loving Jesus and Loving People

I came to realize that to love Jesus and to love people mean we will do our best to bring the two together. To reduce it to the simplest terms, loving Jesus and loving people is what Christianity and the church are all about. I came to understand that unless I genuinely care about the person with whom I am sharing, my presentation of the gospel will lack compassion and sincerity. Also, unless I study the Word of God, my message will lack content. The caring Christian sharing the message of the Word of God give the balance needed to reach people.
