12 Rules for a Happy Marriage

1. Never both be angry at once. (Proverbs 19:11)

2. Never yell at each other unless the house is on fire. (Proverbs 21:23)

3. Yield to the wishes of the other as an exercise in self-discipline, if you can't think of a better reason. (Colossians 3:18-19; Ephesians 5:21)

4. If you have a choice between making yourself or your spouse look good—choose your spouse. (Philippians 2:3-4; Matthew 19:19)

5. If you feel you must criticize do so lovingly. (Ephesians 4:15)

6. Never bring up a mistake of the past (Philippians 3:13-14)

7. Neglect the whole world rather than each other. (Ephesians 5:25-31)

8. Never let the day end without saying at least one complimentary thing to your life partner. (Proverbs 31:26)

9. Never meet without an affectionate greeting. (Proverbs 5:18-19)

10. When you've made a mistake, talk it out and ask for forgiveness. (James 5:16)

11. Remember, it takes two to make an argument. The one who is wrong is the one who will be doing most of the talking. (James 3:5-8)

12. Never go to bed mad. (Ecclesiastes 7:9; Colossians 3:8) .

Congratulations

Joey Jenson graduated from Venice High School on Friday, June 2, 2000. Following graduation Joey will be moving to Minnesota to continue his education.

Geoff Lund graduated from Pine View School on Thursday, June 1, 2000. Following graduation, Geoff will be attending the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Let us remember all of our students who have successfully completed the school year and are moving from one grade to the next.

Please plan on staying for the fellowship meal today as we honor our graduates.

A Graduation Prayer

Give us open minds, O God, minds ready to receive and to welcome the light of knowledge Thou has revealed. Let not the past ever be so dear to us as to set a limit to the future. Give us the courage to change our minds when that is needed. Let us be loving and thoughtful of others, for we know not the good that You can accomplish through our lives.

Wilt Thou keep our hearts open to Thy will and make us a little more deaf to the whispers of men who would persuade us from our duty, for we know in our hearts that only in Thy will is our peace and salvation. Dear Lord help us to honor Thee all the days of our lives that we may dwell with Thee forever. In Jesus name, Amen.

A Special Welcome to our Visitors

Please fill out a blue visitor card so that we might have a record of your visit. If needed, there is a nursery available at the rear of the auditorium. Bible classes for all ages are available Sundays at 10:00 am and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. We hope that you will join us for these studies. Please come and worship with us again soon.

Building Program: If you haven’t already done so—be sure to check the bulletin board in the foyer to see the preliminary drawings from the engineers and the architect.. We will be adding 85 paved parking places and also are looking at making some architectural changes to the building. These would include closing in and widening the front porch to form a new entry into the building and building a covered driveway onto the front of the building. - click here.
